Earlier this week we had some 4-H youth recognized at the Tennessee June Dairy Month Kickoff Luncheon at Ellington Ag Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Congratulations to Lillian Summer, the June Dairy Month Chairperson for Hamilton County and Rusalina Biktimarova who received the state 1st place award for her Dairy Month poster. There were great speakers that included dairy farmers Steve Lee and Sam Craun.

Camp is June 8-12 at Clyde Austin 4-H Center in Greeneville, TN. Cost is $400 and includes transportation to and from camp in a chartered bus, air-conditioned lodging, meals, and activities. It will be a very fun week for youth in grades 4th through 6th in Hamilton County.

Congratulations to the Hamilton County Jr High team of Benjamin, Jack, and Layla, who finished in first place at the Eastern Region 4-H Wildlife Judging Contest today, and to Benjamin, who won first place in individual scores!

Good luck to the Hamilton County 4-H Wildlife team - Layla, PJ, Benjamin, and Jack - as they compete in today’s Eastern Region 4-H Wildlife Judging Contest!

This contest is part of the WHEP program and tests skills in wildlife identification, as well as choosing the best wildlife management practices to create or maintain habitat for particular species in a particular area. Join the Hamilton County 4-H Veterinary Science Club next school year if you would like to participate in this contest!

Spotted Lanternflies have been found in Hamilton County in recent years, so be sure to keep an eye out and squash them any chance you can!
