Michael Watson is a very hands-on type of guy, for example he has always worked on his own cars. Before enrolling in the Industrial Electricity program at Chattanooga State Community College in Dayton, Michael was working nights in a convenience store in Dunlap. At the convenience store he worked the register and would help his employer maintain the building and other commercial properties, but the pay and work weren’t what Michael needed/wanted to support his family. This is when he chose to enroll in the Industrial Electricity program in Dayton. He started in the program in Fall 2022 and it was a hard transition for him. It had been a long time since he was in school and he didn’t have any training on computers, but Mr. Watson has persevered and has been very successful in the Industrial Electricity program.
Matt Long, who works for Robinson Manufacturing, attended an advisory board meeting for the Industrial Electricity and Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics program at the end of the fall term. Mr. Long shared that Robinson Manufacturing had an upcoming expansion project and they were going to need someone to work with their electrician. Mr. Watson was the perfect fit. It appears that Robinson Manufacturing has taken a liking to Mr. Watson as they just gifted him with a set of tools!
Congratulations Michael on your work ethic and putting your education to good use! Thank you Robinson Manufacturing for providing an opportunity for one of our students and rewarding a job well done!
Our Barbering instructor, Ms. J, is AMAZING!
