Two of our most popular summer camps are happening this week!

After visiting Paris, students on the France Spain trip enjoyed the cities of Barcelona and Madrid. In Barcelona, they enjoyed tours of Park Güell and La Sagrada Familia, and in Madrid, they visited Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and the Market of San Miguel in addition to the Prado Museum. A highlight in Madrid was a food-themed walking tour with lots of delicious local fare to sample. What an incredible trip these students have had!

Laughter and tears filled the Seahawk Room at Mrs. McCoy's retirement celebration. Mrs. McCoy, who has served faithfully at the Academy for 23 years, serving many of those years as the principal of the middle school, is retiring this summer. Many of her children and family members were able to attend the gathering which included a sharing time, with faculty and staff sharing about what made her so special to them.

She received gifts, some with sentimental value such as a quilt to honor her years of service as well as a book with notes and photos from staff put together for her by Mrs. Rizzo, and some rather humorous gifts as well. It was a sweet time, and we are so thankful for Mrs. McCoy's heart for the students of Silverdale, especially for those in-between students in the middle school years.
