French connection: Alum Sara Marc headed to France after acceptance into distinguished program - UTC News This fall, alum Sara Marc is headed to Bordeaux, France, to be a teaching assistant and U.S. cultural ambassador as part of the TAPIF program. She has been placed in the Académie de Bordeaux at the secondary school level (middle and/or high school).

Summer school: UTC freshman awarded University of Chicago research opportunity - UTC News Sebastian Jimenez, a Brock Scholar in the Honors College majoring in biology and chemistry, will be participating in a National Science Foundation-funded summer research program at the University of Chicago.

Congratulations to Lola Oke for receiving the Charles B. Rangel Graduate Fellowship! Lola is graduating this semester with a Political Science major and will be participating in an internship this summer in Washington D.C. as part of the fellowship. The fellowship provides a scholarship for a two-year master’s degree, internships, mentoring, and professional development activities. We are so proud of Lola and can’t wait to see what she does next!

Young alum Gus Gaston selected for youth exchange fellowship to Germany - UTC News A Brock Scholar as a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga student, Gus Gaston is heading to Germany in July after being selected as one of 75 finalists for the 2023-2024 year of the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals.

Congratulations to Lake Best for receiving the Fulbright-Canada MITACS Globalink research internship! Lake is currently a junior studying Communications, and will undertake an advanced research project this summer, titled “Transforming Wonder: Justice in Old and New Fairy-Tale Media” at the University of Winnipeg. We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see what they do next!
