Learning is always more fun when we can turn it into a game! 📚✨

Our first graders have been busy this week using hands-on games, teamwork, and a little friendly competition to practice their weekly standards!

🔢 Students worked in teams to practice expanded form and place value
🔤 They raced to find blends and match cards to build words
🤝 And, of course, they practiced working together, encouraging their teammates, and having FUN while learning!

We love seeing our students excited, engaged, and learning together! ❤️📚

CHILD FIND

What is Child Find?

Child Find is a continuous process of public awareness activities, screening and evaluation designed to identify, locate, and evaluate as early as possible all children who are not receiving a free appropriate public education between the ages of birth and twenty-one years of age, who have not yet graduated from high school.

This applies to children with disabilities and their families who are in need of Early Intervention Program (Part C) or Preschool Special Education (Part B )services of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

A child with a disability means a child evaluated and determined eligible for special education and related services in accordance with the Policies and Procedures of Special Education in Oklahoma under the following categories:

* Autism
* Multiple Disabilities
* Deaf-Blindness
* Orthopedic Impairment
* Hearing Impairment Including Deafness
* Other Health Impairments
* Specific Learning Disability
* Emotional Disturbance
* Speech or Language Impairment
* Intellectual Disabilities
* Traumatic Brain Injury
* Visual Impairment Including Blindness

A multidisciplinary team consisting of, but not limited to, parents, general education teacher, principal, special education teacher, related service professionals, and school psychologist will be involved in the evaluation process. The eligibility team will determine the severity of the disability and, for school-age children, if the disability adversely impacts the child’s educational performance.

All children deserve a chance to reach their full potential. Project Child Find is a service to assist families of children who may have special needs. Residents of the Chattanooga Public Schools District may contact the following personnel for additional information regarding an evaluation to determine eligibility for services.

* Autismo
* Discapacidades múltiples
* Sordoceguera
* Discapacidad ortopédica
* Discapacidad auditiva, incluida la sordera
* Otros problemas de salud
* Discapacidad específica de aprendizaje
* Trastorno emocional
* Discapacidad del habla o lenguaje
* Discapacidad intelectual
* Lesión cerebral traumática
* Discapacidad visual, incluida la ceguera

Warrior Coffee had its first soft opening today! Our Life Skills class prepared and delivered free drinks to our high school teachers and staff as the first trial run of our student-run coffee cart.

This gave our students a chance to practice making drinks, filling orders, working together, staying organized, and serving others.

We started with the high school for now while we learn what works and make adjustments before expanding.

We also want to thank our very first official sponsor, Halei’s Homemade Jams & Jellies. We appreciate their support of our students and this new program.

We are excited to keep building Warrior Coffee and giving our students more hands-on experience along the way.
