🇺🇸 Patriot Day | September 11 🇺🇸

Today at Grace Academy, we took time to remember, honor, and reflect on one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.

This morning, we were honored to welcome SFC Tucker and the Chattanooga Recruiting Station as they spent time with our Lower School students and some of our Middle School students in remembrance of September 11. We are grateful for the opportunity our students had to meet those who serve our country and to learn more about the meaning of service and sacrifice.

We also had the privilege of hearing a very personal connection to September 11 from our own Officer Rose. Before serving and protecting our Grace Academy community, Officer Rose served as a police officer in New York City. She was there during the attacks on September 11, 2001, and served at various sites in the aftermath. Today, she shared a table of items she has kept from that time, giving our students a powerful glimpse into a day they know only through history.

Thank you, SFC Tucker and the Chattanooga Recruiting Station, for your service. And thank you, Officer Rose, for the years you have dedicated to serving others and for the way you continue to serve our school each day.

Today, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the families whose lives were forever changed. Twenty-five years later, we still remember, we still honor, and we still pray for all those affected by September 11. 🇺🇸

We will never forget.

🏐 Faculty vs. Middle School Students - Volleyball! 🏐

Our Middle School students took on the Grace Academy faculty in a little friendly volleyball competition, and let’s just say the celebration tells you just about everything you need to know!

Lots of laughs, lots of school spirit, and maybe just a little bragging rights for our Middle School students. 🦅💛

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Gabe Reed on his acceptance to The University of Alabama! 🎉

We are so proud of you, Gabe, and excited to celebrate the first college acceptance of the year at Grace Academy!

🎓 Exploring What Comes Next!

Today, we welcomed Chattanooga State Community College and East Tennessee State University to the high school! Representatives from both schools set up during lunch, giving our high school students a chance to stop by, ask questions, learn about programs, and explore opportunities for their future.

As TN College Application & Exploration Month continues, we’re thankful for opportunities to bring colleges directly to our students and help them discover what their next chapter could look like.

🥎 COACH SPOTLIGHT | SUMMER DEAN 🦅

Coach Summer Dean’s connection to Grace Softball runs deep. A 2017 Grace graduate, she went on to play collegiate softball at Johnson University, where she had an impressive career, including earning NCCAA Third Team All-American honors in 2021.

Now she’s pouring that experience back into the program that helped shape her. With 5+ years of coaching experience, Coach Dean currently leads Grace as the Head Middle & High School Softball Coach, developing our athletes both on and off the field.

We love seeing a former Golden Eagle come home and invest in the next generation of Grace Softball! 🦅🥎

1. Who were/are your biggest influences as a coach?

“My biggest influence coaching is my dad. He coached me when I was younger playing softball and now he is teaching me to be a coach as well. Another influence I have as a coach is Tina Walker she coached me when I went to Grace. Not only that but she was a mentor for me. “

2. What are your favorite aspects of being a coach?

“My favorite aspect of being a coach is being able to share my love of the sport with someone else. I also love being a person the girls can always count on and look up to. “

3. What are some of your favorite things to do outside of coaching?

“One of my favorite things to do when I’m not coaching is to read. I also love going camping and being outside as well! “

4. Favorite memory coaching at grace?

“My favorite memory coaching at Grace would be last year coaching middle school and getting our first win of the season and getting the water bucket dumped all over me”

5. Hobby outside of coaching ?

“One of my favorite things to do when I’m not coaching is to read. I also love going camping and being outside as well! “

🎓 TN College Application & Exploration Month continues at Grace Academy!

We love welcoming colleges and universities to campus and giving our students opportunities to explore what life after high school could look like. During lunch, students have been able to stop by, ask questions, learn about programs and opportunities, and begin thinking about where God may be leading them next.

A big thank you to UTC and Bryan College for spending time with our students and helping them learn more about the college experience!

We’re excited to continue welcoming more schools to campus throughout the month as our students explore the many possibilities ahead. 🦅

🏈 Friday Night at Grace Academy! 💛

Friday was a special night as we welcomed our Grace Academy family to our first home football game of the season!

From face painting and Golden Eagle spirit to the cheers from the stands and that unmistakable warm, humid air of early-season football, it was a night that just felt like the start of fall at Grace. 🦅

More than anything, we loved seeing so many of our students, families, alumni, faculty, and friends gathered together to support our Golden Eagles. Nights like these are about more than football. They are about community, school spirit, and making memories together.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make our first home game such a special one. We’re looking forward to many more Friday nights together this season!

🤖⚙️ Learning from the Experts!

Last Friday, Mrs. Higdon’s Robotics class had the opportunity to welcome a panel of engineers from TVA into the classroom!

Students interviewed the engineers, asked questions about their careers and experiences, and learned more about what working in engineering looks like beyond the classroom. Opportunities like this give our students a chance to connect what they are learning today with the possibilities waiting for them in the future.

🎓 Looking Toward the Future!

Some of our Grace Academy high school students attended a College & Career Fair tonight, exploring different colleges, career paths, and opportunities for life after high school!

We love seeing our students take the time to think about what their future could hold and learn more about the many paths available to them. A special thank you to Mrs. Tucker for leading our students and connecting them with opportunities like this to help them dream, plan, and prepare for what comes next! 🦅
