Discovery Learners’ Academy

It was a fun and busy last Tuesday of this school year! We love seeing learners collaborate, iterate, grow, and connect! Everyone deserves a place where they can learn and everyone deserves a place where they belong!

We kicked off the luau with our middle and high schoolers selling products and services they created! It was a joy to see the pride on their faces as they sold out or did better than they expected to, and especially to see them light up when the customers were delighted with one of their wares! From a role playing game system that two kids created to baked goods, hand made crafts, helium balloons, reselling items they no longer wanted, handmade soap, packs of pictures with one designated as the special picture, and post it note commissions from one of our advanced art learners, the options were as diverse as the learners!

We had a blast saying "aloha" to the 25/26 school year last Friday with a luau! It's hard I believe we're in the final week of the school year!

We are loving the sunny and not too hot weather this week! From our Creature Features field trips to extra time on the playground, it's been a week full of soaking in our last two weeks together before summer break.

Last week all our learners poured their creativity into building Junk Bots! One of our high schoolers took the lead and developed a game system for them to battle! He collaborated with several peers to improve and refine his system, and then taught it to the kids at Friday recess! ***If this is the kind of learning environment where your child would thrive, please reach out!
