Dr. Kris Amrhein , a former UTC faculty member and alumnus, traveled to Gulf Shores to see the UTC Beach Volleyball team play in the first round of the NCAA tournament. He connected with Chemistry major and player Ansley Gulledge .gulledge . It’s exciting to see our students excel both in and out of the classroom!

Have you finished Organic Chemistry 2? Sign up to take Polymer Chemistry and learn about the molecules and reactions that lead to the unique behavior of macromolecules! The lab includes hands-on advanced synthesis. Chemistry majors, don’t miss this opportunity! The class is also a good fit for chemical engineering and physics majors, and counts toward the chemistry majors or minor as an upper-level elective.

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced the award winners of this year’s Graduate Research Fellowship. We are excited to share that December 2025 graduate Cheyenne Higgs has won a fellowship! The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is one of the nation’s most prestigious fellowship programs, providing three years of financial support to graduate students who have demonstrated potential for significant achievements in research. Cheyenne plans to pursue her Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University. We are proud of your hard work at UTC and accomplishments that led you to this point! Congratulations, Cheyenne!
