🚨📣Announcing the 2027 Pedagogy and Conducting Institute!🚨📣

The UTC Summer Pedagogy and Conducting Institutes are designed for music educators and ensemble directors who want to improve their conducting, rehearsal techniques, and teaching strategies.

Hosted at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, these summer institutes provide a focused and supportive environment to learn from nationally and internationally recognized clinicians.

Participants engage in a combination of lectures, hands-on practice, and ensemble rehearsals throughout the week.

Meet Michael Musgrave, our September Math Spotlight! From growing up on a mountain farm in Soddy-Daisy with eight siblings, two cows, and a "crap ton of chickens" to studying mathematics at UTC, Michael’s journey is truly unique.

The UTC Department of Music is excited to welcome Kyle Johnson as new Adjunct Instructor of Cello!

Serving as Principal Cello of the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, Kyle Johnson is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and completed his Bachelors Degree at Carnegie Mellon University and his Masters Degree at Indiana University. Recently, he served as principal cellist of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and the Columbus (IN) Philharmonic. Additionally, he is an avid chamber musician and maintains an active freelancing schedule throughout the South and Midwest.

Who Dropped the Case? is an interdisciplinary conference that brings together law enforcement, medical professionals, advocates, social workers, educators, and community leaders to educate and drive meaningful collaboration. Through expert panels and shared dialogue, they are uniting our community to build streamlined, trauma-informed systems for survivors of sexual assault, abuse, victimization, trafficking, and interpersonal violence.
