If you are currently a nursing student at UTC, please take this survey to help out one of our professors, Professor Collier, who needs 19 more participants to take the survey to meet her 200 participant minimum! It is for her PhD. Thank you all and have a wonderful day!!
UTC Student Nurses Association
The Student Nurses Association is a student led organization sponsored by the UTC School of Nursing.
It is a constituent of the Tennessee Association of Student Nurses and the National Student Nurse’s Association. Meetings are held monthly during the academic school year on the first Monday of the month at 12:00 pm. SNA also participates in extracurricular activities/events throughout the year, including the awareness walks and fundraisers, blood drives, and back to school picnics. All pre-nursin
Thank you so much Sigma Theta Tau International for hosting a great Spring Conference! We enjoyed learning about "Nursing Beyond the Hospital Walls." Special thanks for all the wonderful speakers!
As Monday gets closer and closer, here is a friendly reminder for what part of Monday brings:
Our last SNA meeting of the semester will be this coming Monday, April 3rd at 11:45am in room 231. We will be voting on the nominated candidates for SNA officer positions for the upcoming school year! BBQ pork and chicken with banana pudding from Rib and Loin is for lunch. Please try to be on time if at all possible because we will be voting at the beginning of the meeting so that the votes can be tallied and winners can be announced at the end of the meeting. Again, a friendly reminder that if you plan on getting food for lunch, you also need to stay for the speaker and for voting. Good luck to all of our candidates! 💛💙
Good morning!
Another SNA meeting coming up means another month closer to finishing the semester!
Please keep in mind for this upcoming meeting on Monday, March 6th at 11:45am in room 231, we will be taking nominations for next year's SNA officers. We will take nominations for all of the positions during this meeting, and then we will vote on the nominated officers at the following meeting on April 3rd. The positions available include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Graphic Designer/Organizer. Please consider whether you might be interested in filing one of these roles, or if you know someone that would do a good job serving in one of these roles! We will have each of our officers give a brief explanation of their position during the meeting so that you can better understand the responsibilities that go with it.
Our President Carly Morris would like to add, "First semester’s! I realize that you will not be able to make it to our March meeting because of clinical. I will come talk to your class at some point before our March meeting about having a chance to nominate. Please consider this opportunity, as you have the potential to serve as an SNA officer for 2 consecutive years throughout nursing school."

Hello and good morning!!
If you're anything like me you have a closet/dresser full of clothes but you wear the same things every week! 😂 Some of our fellow nursing students would love if you could help them help those that are not fortunate enough to make that decision, so here is a friendly reminder of an email you might have already seen. :)
"Good Afternoon Everyone,
My name is Ashley Lawson and I am a 5th level nursing student. Four other 5th level students and myself are working at the Chattanooga Health Department for our community clinical rotation. We are partnering with the Health Department for an event that is coming up on November 10th called Project Homeless Connect. We are going to be setting up a table to educate about smoking. We would like to be able to give an item out to people in need who come to visit our table. With colder times of the year approaching we are asking that if you have any unused coats, scarfs, gloves, or hats to please donate them for this event; however, any form of clothing donation is greatly appreciated (eg. t-shirt, jeans, etc.). I am going to put a box in the fish bowl labeled "Project Homeless Connect Donations" for you to drop off these items. Please considered going through your clothes and donating anything that you can. All donations need to be brought in by Wednesday November 9th by 12pm. Your donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Ashley Lawson"
This is a great way to do a simple thing and feel good about helping out your fellow community members and nursing peers!
You do not have to be an SNA member or nursing student to help, so you can spread the word to your friends and family and see if they have anything they would like to donate as well. :)
