And that’s a wrap on the 2024 Leadership camp! We are so proud of these campers for so many different reasons, paramount of which is the growth they have exhibited throughout these past two weeks. After a great last night on the ridge, we believe that these campers are able and dedicated to bringing the values they learned in camp back to their own lives at home. We are sad to see them leave but hope to see every one of them back in the fall for tours.

Congratulations to Cole Brown (winner, first picture) and William Brockwell (second place, second picture)!!! After the actual Amazing Shake ended, tallying of the points began. The top fifteen are pictured on pictures three, four, and five. Campers were evaluated mainly based on their social skills in foreign environments. Once again, the Amazing Shake is a great way to push our guys out of their comfort zones. Having a balanced schedule between physical, mental, and social challenges helps get campers accustomed to life at McCallie and life past this camp and as they begin to experience a larger part of the world.

This afternoon, we had the first round of The Amazing Shake. This competition is centered around conversation skills, etiquette, and campers’ overall poise. Today’s activity was “work the room” where campers had to start and continue conversations with judges (all of whom are affiliated with McCallie in some way). Tomorrow holds an exciting gauntlet round, where campers go through different rooms with their respective scenarios.

Happy Birthday Lucas Lee! Everyone loved the cupcakes! After dinner and celebrating Lucas’s birthday, CLC took to the campus of McCallie for an all camp game. This game was a mix between capture the flag and hide ‘n’ seek. After giving instructions and handing out campus maps with boundary lines, the groups were off to find and then keep the hidden McCallie “M” away from the other groups.
