That’s exactly where Still Life Savvy comes in.

Join artist Thaddea Young for a six-week painting class designed to help you become a more thoughtful, confident, and capable painter.

Working from still life subjects from life, you’ll learn to look more carefully, make stronger decisions, and understand what your painting needs at every stage.

Together, you’ll explore:

• Composition and design
• Color and value
• Light and shadow
• Observation and perception
• Painting fundamentals
• Practical problem-solving skills

The goal isn’t simply to complete another painting. It’s to develop the ability to recognize what’s working, identify what isn’t, and know how to move your painting forward.

Thaddea offers individualized guidance and thoughtful feedback tailored to each artist, making this a wonderful opportunity to strengthen your skills and gain practical knowledge you can carry into your future work.

Urban sketching is having a moment—and for good reason! It’s creative, relaxed, social, and all about capturing the world around you with quick, expressive sketches.

Join artist Richard Tichnor for Urban Sketching on Cape Cod, a fun four-week evening class designed for ALL LEVELS—from complete beginners to experienced artists.

✏️ Learn the basics of architectural perspective
-Sketch streetscapes, buildings & everyday Cape Cod scenes
-Develop loose, quick, expressive drawing skills
-Then take your new skills outside and sketch Cape Cod in person!

You do not need to be an experienced drawer to join. Richard will guide you step-by-step, while more advanced artists can use the class to loosen up, sharpen their perspective skills, and develop their own sketching style.

And because this is an evening class, it’s the perfect creative escape after work or school.

You don’t need a studio full of supplies to make beautiful art. A sketchbook, a pen, and a little curiosity can take you almost anywhere.

Urban sketching has become a worldwide creative movement, inviting artists to slow down, really look, and capture the character of the places around them — quickly, loosely, and without worrying about perfection.

Join artist Richard Tichnor for four weeks of learning the basics of architectural perspective, loose sketching, and simplifying what you see. We’ll start in the studio with photos and models, then head outside to sketch Cape Cod’s streets, buildings, and everyday scenery.

Learn the building blocks of drawing through still life and other projects. Explore line, texture, form, value, and composition using simple geometric shapes to understand how objects are constructed. Perfect for painters and non-painters alike — and all levels are welcome.

Explore the beautiful, expressive possibilities of pastel in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Work in a series while exploring color, value, design, composition, surfaces, and techniques using both hard and soft pastels. Beginners are welcome, and pastel materials will be available to try.
