Chatham Hall's BSU Leadership Team was warmly welcomed at the Pittsylvania County NAACP meeting last week. By attending this meeting, Liana J. '28, Raine B. '27, Kal W. '27, and Malika O. '27 had the opportunity to learn about local political issues and the importance of voting. We are so grateful for the opportunities that Chatham Hall students have to engage in our local community!

Chatham Hall is launching a new Equine Studies Certificate! 🐴🌟
Creating an intentional pathway for students to deepen their horsemanship knowledge, the certificate combines academic coursework, hands-on experience, and career exploration through Chatham Hall’s nationally recognized Riding Program. Students pursuing the certificate will explore the science, theory, ethics, and professional opportunities that shape the equine industry.

In the middle of all the noise, where do you find your calm? 🌿 Boarding school can be busy, energetic, and full of activity, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t space to slow down. 💛💜 As one Chatham Hall student shares, “you can still find the calm.”
Whether it’s a quiet corner, a walk outside, on the back of a horse, time with a friend, or simply a moment to breathe, there’s always a place to pause, reset, and find your own rhythm. Thanks to Sophia P. ’30 for sharing some of her calm. We hope everyone is having an amazing fall long weekend.

We were so excited to welcome more than 140 family members and friends to Family Days this year! 💜💛 From our welcome dinner at the Rectory last night to time in the classroom and gathering in our beautiful St. Mary's Chapel, campus was full of fun, connection, and special moments together.
There's nothing quite like sharing the Chatham Hall experience with the people who mean the most to our girls!

Chatham Hall is celebrating Episcopal Schools Week, honoring our deep Episcopal roots and the role faith continues to play in our community.
We began our celebration with a special chapel service at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Sunday, September 27, and spent this past week pausing, learning, worshiping, and exploring what it means to be an Episcopal school. Tomorrow, we will round out the week with our Family Day Chapel, which holds the theme of "Be still, and know that I am God." Together, we celebrate the faith, history, questions, traditions, and community that make Chatham Hall who we are. 💜💛

Ever since she was four years old, Anna F. has surrounded herself with horses. 🐴✨️💜 From her first pony ride to riding Cletus, her equine partner at Chatham Hall, horses have always been Anna’s safe haven. For her Senior Chapel Talk, Anna described the moments that led up to finding her purpose – how horses help her strive to be better every day and motivate her to pursue her goals. To conclude, she left us with a piece of advice: “I hope you can find your purpose too, and when you do, focus on it, and pursue it like your life depends on it. It has made all the difference for me.” Thank you, Anna!

For Saniah P., a sunset is more than just a sky full of colors – it’s a reminder that even endings can be beautiful. 🌅🧡 During her Senior Chapel Talk, she reflected on her love for the sky and all its variations. Sunsets display the beauty in change, and the stars serve as a reminder that no matter the distance, nothing is truly unreachable. ✨️ Saniah closed her Chapel Talk beautifully by stating, “...there is an entire sky above me, and I have no intention of making my life smaller than my imagination.” Thank you, Saniah!

What if success isn’t just about what you achieve, but who you become along the way? 🥇 We’re thrilled to welcome Olympic champion Dominique Dawes as our 2026-2027 Polly Wheeler Guth ’44 Leader in Residence!
A three-time Olympian and member of the legendary “Magnificent Seven,” Dawes will spend time with our students in April exploring identity, resilience, leadership, and the courage to become fully yourself.
