FAFSA will be released December 1st. Our college adviser, Ms. Quarles, will be hosting FAFSA Night on December 5th from 5:00PM to 7:00PM for you & your parent(s) to come get help filing. You can drop in at any time. She will be providing pizza & prizes will be given out for students that attend!

To complete the (FAFSA®), you will need:
* Your Social Security Number
* Your Tax Identification Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
* Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned in 2023
* Current bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
* Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
* An FSA ID to sign electronically.

What is a FSA ID? An FSA ID consists of an account username and password that you create in order to gain access to the U.S. Department of Education's online systems, including StudentAid.gov. An FSA ID can also serve as your legal signature when completing electronic documents.

Mark your calendars because Wednesday, November 13th from 5:00PM to 6:30PM our college adviser, Ms. Quarles, will be hosting a financial aid overview night! What will be she covering during this event? She will be presenting information about the upcoming FAFSA, grants, scholarships, and loans. She will be going over what award letters will look like from different colleges and how to read them. She will have representatives from TRIO, the Air Force, and multiple scholarship organizations in attendance to speak how they can help you afford college also.

Ms. Quarles also encourages you and your parent(s) to bring your Social Security Number, so we can go ahead & get you registered for an FSA ID. A FSA ID is the login/account information needed to file the FAFSA. Why are we creating our FSA IDs during this event? The new FAFSA form, release date is December 1, 2024, requires filers to register their account 3 days prior to filing the form. She do not want you to be held up when it comes time to file, and if you choose to come to CHS FAFSA Night December 5th 5:00PM-7:00PM, I want to be able to help you to file the FAFSA that night.

Are you interested in potentially playing a sport in college? We highly recommend you & your family attend NCAA Eligibility Night Wednesday, November 6th from 5:30PM to 6:30PM in the Chatham High School Auditorium. Ms. Quarles, our college adviser, will be going over the requirements needed to be eligible to play and be recruited by colleges. We will have a panel of former DI athletes for you to hear from, so you can know about the experience is like playing a sport in college.
