This past summer, five students from Chatham High School had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., with the Colonial Dames and participate in a program through the Washington Workshops Foundation.

During their experience, students explored our nation’s capital and gained firsthand insight into government, history, leadership, and civic engagement. They visited significant sites throughout Washington, D.C., while learning about our nation’s history and the many lessons the nation’s capital has to offer.

Pittsylvania County Schools is proud to celebrate a new chapter at Kentuck Elementary School with a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the school’s new wing!

Join us as we celebrate this exciting addition and the opportunities it creates for our students and community.

Kentuck Elementary School — Main Entrance / New Wing Lobby

The celebration will include remarks from school and community leaders, a ribbon-cutting ceremony with special guests, photo opportunities, semi-guided tours of the new wing, and light refreshments.

All are welcome! We invite our families, students, staff, community members, and friends to join us for this special milestone.

Mark your calendar and join the Pittsylvania County Schools Transportation team!

Our Transportation Department will host Bus Driver Training on September 12–13 and September 19–20.

Saturday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Sunday: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Training will be held at the Transportation Facility, located at 1001 Tightsqueeze Road, Chatham, VA.

Please note: You must attend both weekends to earn the required 24 hr. credit.

At Tuesday’s School Board meeting, the Board recognized several individuals and celebrated numerous achievements across Pittsylvania County Schools.

Mrs. Nancy Ezell was honored as the 2026 PCS Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Ezell is a teacher at Twin Springs Elementary School. Several students from across the county were also recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and achievements through Beta Club.

Congratulations to all of these individuals on their remarkable achievements and continued commitment to excellence!
