Breakaway Academy

The Program at Breakaway Academy is growing into something special.

Now in its second year, The Program gives driven student-athletes in grades 9–12 the opportunity to combine online academics, daily support, and elite hockey training while continuing to play for their high school team.

A different path. The same commitment to helping students become their best — in school, in sport and in life.

What’s it really like to be a Breakaway Academy student-athlete?

Who better to ask than the students who just lived it? 🎓

Before graduating, we asked our 8th graders what advice they would give to a future student. Their answers offer a glimpse into Breakaway Academy from those who know it best.

Ready to see what Breakaway Academy could look like for your child? Come experience it for yourself.

Our school would be nothing without… these incredible people! 📸💙❤️

Our coaching staff brings so much to Breakaway Academy — on the ice, on the field, and everywhere in between. Thank you for all you do for our student-athletes!

As part of their service learning project, our 6th graders partnered with the founders of Michael’s Light and A Kindness Co., a brand dedicated to spreading kindness, to explore the different phases of product development. Students were challenged to create a name, slogan, icon, theme, and scent combination for their very own candle.

This year, our candles are inspired by our very own 6th grader, Crosby Urlick, who is fighting cancer with incredible courage and strength. Half of the proceeds will go to our 6th grade charity partner, Michael’s Light, and the other half will be donated to a childhood cancer charity.

What a meaningful and inspiring experience for our students! Stay tuned for the next phase of this special project. 💙❤️

Our 8th graders are kicking off their annual service-learning project with DinoMights! 🦖🏒

We’re collecting new and gently used youth and adult hockey equipment — including sticks — to help get more kids on the ice. No socks or jerseys, please!

📍 Drop off donations at our Eden Prairie campus from October 5th–14th.

Let’s help our 8th graders give back! 💙❤️
