Our local VFW has reached out to us on 2 scholarships that are available AND homeschool students are included for this scholarship opportunity.

The VFW offers two student scholarship programs that provide students an opportunity to share their thoughts through an essay or recorded presentation:
1. Patriot’s Pen (PP)
For students in grades 6–8, participants submit an essay. The national winner receives a $5,000 award.
2. Voice of Democracy (VOD)
For students in grades 9–12, participants submit a written essay along with a 3–5 minute recorded audio presentation. The national winner receives a $30,000 scholarship.
More information can be found on the VFW Department of Virginia website. Once on the site, select the PROGRAMS dropdown and then choose either Patriot’s Pen or Voice of Democracy.
I have attached forms with additional information. They include a QR code and link that will allow students to submit their entries to our VFW Post.
The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2026. All submissions must be the student's original work and ideas. AI-generated content and plagiarism are not permitted.

At Kids For Christ Homeschool Co-op, learning goes beyond books, we also believe in serving others and showing the love of Christ through community outreach. ❤️

As we look back on the time we came together to serve a community meal, we are so proud of how well the kids did. From helping serve to simply fellowshipping together, it was such a meaningful experience for everyone involved. Moments like these help teach compassion, kindness, teamwork, and the importance of giving back to others.

We truly enjoy growing together, building friendships, and creating lasting memories as a co-op family. We are excited for all that’s ahead and look forward to continuing to grow our Kids For Christ family together! ✨

Want more information on how to join? Send us a message, we’d love to have you join our co-op family! ❤️
