CHECK the scene for safety.
CHECK the victim for responsiveness and normal breathing using the tap, shout tap method.
If the victim is unresponsive and not breathing normally
CALL (or have someone else call) 911.
CARE begin giving chest compressions.

The rate of chest compressions is the same for cardiac arrest victims of all ages. However, the depth of compressions varies based on the victim's age.

- Infants (under 1 year old): Compress the chest approximately 1.5 inches deep.
- Children (1–12 years old): Compress the chest approximately 2 inches deep.
- Adults (12 years and older): Compress the chest at least 2 inches deep.

Remember: Push hard, push fast, and allow the chest to fully recoil between compressions.
