Albemarle County Public Schools offices are closed today to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

The Celebration of Life for Coach Beth Humphrey - Monticello head softball coach from 1998-2018, is tomorrow (Saturday June 13), 3:00pm in the Main Gym at the school.

Monticello softball alumni are welcome to attend and wear your favorite Monticello apparel. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial donations to the Monticello Athletic Boosters Club that will be used to improve the hitting facility.

Its a beautiful day for the Virginia High School League - VHSL Track & Field state championship meet today at Liberty University. Seven student-athletes athletes are representing Monticello today. Go Mustangs!

Today's the day for Monticello Youth Football & Cheer camp, kicking off the summer for young Mustangs across Southern Albemarle County. Registration at 8:45, camp from 9-11am for ages 5-14 (K-8th grade).

Monticello's Boys Tennis team, ranked #10 in Region 3C (per the region's ratings system), continued their postseason run as the Road Warriors, defeating #2 ranked Wilson Memorial 5-4 last night in Fishersville, following a 5-0 shutout win at #7 ranked Rockbridge in the first round.

The underdog Mustangs continue their postseason experience on Monday June 1 with a 2:00pm match at #3 Spotswood, with a state tournament berth to the victors.

Monticello's season comes to an end on the road at top ranked Meridian H.S. (Falls Church City, formerly George Mason H.S.). The Mustangs Senior class of 2026 graduates with 42 wins in four years and many exciting memories in Coach Langley Sloan's program.

Turner Ashby girls soccer falls to Monticello in regional quarterfinals Fifth-seeded Monticello pulled off a road upset Friday night, blanking fourth-seeded Turner Ashby 3-0 in the Region 3C quarterfinals at Sam Ritchie Stadium.

Congratulations Monticello girls soccer, clean sheet victors at Turner Ashby as the road underdogs last night in the Region 3C tournament. The Mustangs pick up their 12th win of the year, and play next on Tuesday June 2 at Western Albemarle (6:30pm) with a state tournament berth on the line.

Congrats to the top Mustangs finishers in the Region 3C Track & Field Championship meet, and to all of the Monticello athletes who have amassed well over 60 personal best times this spring. Next up - the VHSL state meet on June 5 & 6 at Liberty University.
