We loved having our former Bees come back to Summit to celebrate before they graduate from CHS on Wednesday night. ❤️

Many “thank you’s” to our Belmont Baptist Church Family for the delicious breakfast they provided for Summit in celebration of Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week!!! You all went above and beyond, we are forever grateful for your support and kindness!!!

🚗Reminder: Public Meeting About Summit Traffic Changes is This Tuesday, May 5

The City of Charlottesville, in partnership with Charlottesville City Schools (CCS), will pilot new traffic safety measures around Summit in response to ongoing concerns during arrival and dismissal times. The public meeting to discuss this changes will be held at Summit on Tuesday, May 5 at 6pm.

The following changes will be made on a temporary/trial basis to Belmont Avenue, Tufton Avenue, and Monticello Avenue:
🚗A school drop-off lane for vehicles will be created on Belmont Avenue, allowing families to drop off and pick up their students on that side of the school. (This design will take the existing bus loading zone and convert it to a dedicated vehicle drop-off lane
🚗A normal vehicular travel lane will still exist on Belmont Aven
🚌Bus dropoff and parking will be on Tufton Avenue, along the fence line of the playground
🚗An additional dedicated vehicle drop-off area will be added on Monticello Avenue along the school property frontage
🛑An all-way stop will be added to the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Meridian Street

The pilot will run May 11 through May 29, with on-site support and traffic management during implementation.
