Becky Allen's Music Studio

Arizona Interscholastic Association competition. I received an award for outstanding piano study and performance for the year in my piano studio growing up out of 25 other students in 1999. I started playing the french horn in 5th grade. I attended Northern Arizona Arts Camp for two years and also the world renowned arts camp, Interlochen Arts Camp twice, located in Interlochen, Michigan. I have also attended Kendall Betts Horn Camp in New Hampshire twice and had the wonderful opportunity to work with many different professional horn players, including Kendall Betts, Barry Tuckwell, David O’hanian, Bill Capps, Michael Hatfield, and many others. I performed in 2 National Honor Bands during high school. The first, John Phillip Sousa National Honors Band which performed in Washington, D.C. in 1999; and the second, the National Wind Ensemble which performed in Carnegie Hall in 2000. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a strong emphasis in Music Theory and Horn in 2005. I have also played professionally with 2 symphony orchestras, the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra both on Horn. I continue to perform with the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra now. I have also played in many different cities across the country for various music ensembles on the horn. I began teaching in 1999 on both horn and piano. I have been activily teaching horn and piano in a studio setting with a minium of 20 students in my studio in the Louisa area since 2007. I have taught both young children and adults, with varying abilities, for over ten years. I have recently relocated my studio to Charlottesville and am teaching in the area. I am currently a member of the Music Teachers Association under the Charlottesville Music Teacher Association chapter.
