Dear Families,
Dave and I have been driven to lead with our mission since 2006. On Wednesday, I read this poem to our students, to our teachers and to our community. The poem expresses our commitment to your children for the next 20 years. Together we will raise good humans.
Love,
Stacey

One photo from the beginning. One photo from the end. And a lifetime of memories in between. Today, they walk across the bridge into their next adventure, carrying with them the friendships, lessons, and memories they’ve made along the way. We can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes them. You’ll always have a home at CDS. Once a Bear, always a Bear.

It feels like just yesterday they were our tiniest Cubs. Don’t blink… they’re almost Pandas!💙💚

Before CDS ever opened its doors, Ms. Stacey had a vision and a dream for a different kind of school.
20 years ago, that dream became reality when CDS welcomed its very first students.
Tonight, we celebrate the community, memories, and people who made the last 20 years so special.
See you tonight at the Bradbury! 💙💚

In honor of our 20th anniversary and Teacher Appreciation Week, we’ve been digging through the archives and uncovering photos from the very first years of CDS. Recognize anyone? 💙💚
We’re so proud that so many of our teachers have been part of this community since the beginning, helping shape CDS with their dedication, heart, and love for teaching over the past 20 years. 💙
How long have you been a part of the CDS community? ⬇️

We love our teachers so much. They bring passion, dedication, skill, rigor, expertise, kindness, and joy to their work every single day. They understand that great teaching means constantly learning and growing, and that we are always better together.
We are so grateful for their deep commitment to this field and to our students. 💙💚

Bear Buddies and science came together in preschool yesterday as the Grizzly and Spirit Bears became pollinators for their annual spring Bee-lay race.
After studying pollinators, students brought their learning to life through movement and play.
Hands-on learning, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun.

6th graders are reading The Outsiders in English, and for Decades Day they pulled off an epic surprise for their teachers with a Greasers vs. Socs class costume.
Each student came dressed as a specific character and planned the entire idea themselves. Creative, collaborative, and fully committed!

Theme work makes the dream work!
As we gear up for our 20th anniversary celebration, we’re reflecting on the themes that have shaped our community over the past two decades. Each year, a shared theme connects our students across grades and subjects, sparking creativity, building community, and bringing learning to life in meaningful ways. From preschool to middle school, it’s the thread that ties it all together (and the inspiration behind each year’s yearbook cover!).
Which theme has been your favorite? Drop it below! 💙💚

A look back at the first few days of the Golden Bears Spanish immersion trip to Panama! 🇵🇦
From exploring Colonial-era Panama City, to a canoe voyage to the Emberá village, to dance parties in between, these Bears have been busy learning, exploring, and making unforgettable memories.
