We are so grateful to the families who choose waldorf education for their children!
We have seen how our CWS graduates leave our school with a desire to continue learning and with curiosity about the world that leads them on many different interesting and fulfilling paths. We have seen how their confidence leads to entrepreneurship, to leadership, and to adventures around the world. And we are honored to be a part of what inspires this work our students go on to do in their lives!
Right now we are getting very close to reaching our $100,000 goal for the Annual Fund that supports the day-to-day operations of Charlottesville Waldorf School. Thanks to the generous $10,000 matching donation offered by a member of the community, each donation made until the end of June is effectively doubled.
Now is an excellent time to show your support for CWS: for the students who are learning to make the world a better place, for the teachers who bring so much creativity and thoughtfulness to their lessons, for the admin and staff who care for the infrastructure, and for the parents, guardians, and extended families who also find meaning in being part of this school community.
Donate today at www.cwaldorf.org/spring-match-challenge >>>
Every gift, at every level, counts toward reaching our financial goals and also counts as a gesture of your belief and confidence in the importance of Waldorf education in Charlottesville.

Congratulations to our grade 8 class of 2026! We are so proud of this group of students and grateful to the many teachers who brought them through the years to this day. Nearly all of this years graduating class began at CWS in early childhood, several even attended parent and child classes together! Most of them will be going on to the Charlottesville High School , a couple will attend Albemarle High School and one will attend an independent high school in Nova Scotia, Canada! Very best wishes to our graduates!

The Pentathlon or Greek Olympics is an exciting spring event for which our fifth grade students at Charlottesville Waldorf School were preparing for much of this year in their movement classes. Learning to throw the discus and javelin, practicing racing and long-jump and upright wresting, the students learned technical skill and also worked on their form since judging at the event is for both truth and beauty. Meeting students from other Waldorf schools and making new friends is a highlight of this trip and we are so happy to have such a wonderful group of regional Waldorf schools who join together to make this event happen! Congrats to our movement teacher, Emma Deane, for leading the CWS fifth grade students this year!
