Good morning Alumni, friends Tuesday June 16, 2026. I`m writing you to let all of know that we are still raising money for the digital Kiosk. We are far short of our goal of $20,000 dollar that we feel is need for this project. A lot of letter were sent out a few were returned and some were never answered, for those that just laid your letter down pick them up and send that donation in to us today so we can reach our to complete this project

Good morning, Alumni, friends Sunday April 19, 2026. Members of the Burley varsity club and friends attend Virginia High school Hall of Fame banquet, at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville, VA in support of the induction of Garwin DeBerry into the Hall of fame. Garwin Coach football at Charlottesville High school for 28years. Garwin started the Lacrosse team at CHS and coach it for 7 years. I might say this was a long time coming, but i looked around the room Sunday there were a lot of former athletes that should be in the Hall of fame. There are so many changes made in the system that they are miss but one day maybe Charlottesville will have a Hall of fame. Congratulation Garwin DeBerry

Alumni, friend, Good morning I`m writing to you this morning about our last project. We sent out letter to our Alumni and friends asking for donation to help with our last project a Kiosk. The club goal is $20,000, an we are far short of that goal, I`m finding out that some people laid the letter down and now they have forgotten that we ask them for a donation for this project, so once we find out the price we can pay for it when it order. Alumni let go help us to reach our goal.

Good afternoon Alumni, friends, The Burley Varsity Club has awaken. We`re proud to announce our final and most meaningful project: a digital Kiosk that will stand as a living tribute to the legacy of Burley High School. This Kiosk will feature 21 stories of former Burley students, athletes, scholars, leaders- and one deeply moving story about Olivia Ferguson a lost child whose memory deserves to honored and remembered.

This isn`t just a machine It`s a monument to resilience community, and the spirit of Burley. To bring this vision to life, we need your help. We need to raise $20,000, and we`re calling on our alumni. Those who know what Burley pride truly means to help us reach that goal.

We are asking you to between $25 and $100 to help preserve our history and inspire future generation. Every dollar dollar bring us closer to sharing these stories with the world.

Alumni, Friend Good morning It has been a long time since I`ve written a post. Saturday May 20, 2023 the Burley Varsity Club held a program at Jackson P. Burley Middle School at 11:00 am we retired our school colors Kelley green and old gold. When Burley closed in 1967 our color were left at the school, when Albemarle County purchased the school and open Jack Jouett Annex in 1969 our color was given to them which was wrong. Once i found out where our school color were I wrote DR Hass a letter requesting our color return with three options and the best one was to have them retire and stored in special collected at UVA. Another great day in the history of Jackson P. Burley High School.

The Burley Varsity Club held a panel discussion, on the Unforgettable Jackson P. Burley High School the book written by Lucille Smith on the school yesterday. The event was for Black History Month at Burley middle School for Sixth, seventh, and eighth grader. We had five Alumni on the panel from graduating classes 1963, 1966 . The student didn`t get bored and they were very interested in what was going and being said. Thank you Principal Blount and her staff for making this happen

Alumni, Friends Sunday January 22, 2023,the Martin Luther King Jr community celebration and Worship Service at Mount Zion first African Baptist church in Charlottesville, VA. The program was a very good with the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Choir preforming Fantastically. The program speaker was The Honorable John Charles Thomas former Justice of Supreme Court Of Virginia. The high light of the night was Presentation of the Martin Luther King Jr Charlottesville Community Award. This Years Recipients was Rev. Patricia Jones Turner, she Coach Clarence Jones daughter
