Closing out this week, we have Cora Averweg! Cora is a first time Orientation Leader from Los Angeles, CA and she is majoring in Commerce with concentrations in Management and IT.

Ask Cora about McIntire, being an out-of-state student, being a transfer student, her involvement with class councils, Greek life, and best places to eat/things to do in downtown Charlottesville!

Up next, we have Savanna Cleveland! Savanna is a first time Orientation Leader from Moseley, VA and she is majoring in Mechanical Engineering!

Ask Savanna about working on and off Grounds, engineering clubs, research opportunities, dining halls, and finding your place on Grounds!

Next up we have Cass Ramirez! Cass is a first time Orientation Leader from Altavista, VA and she is majoring in Public Policy (Pre-Batten) and Youth & Social Innovations with a minor in Global Studies.

Ask Cass about being an FGLI student, her Latinx experience at UVA, self-care and mental health, figuring out your major, multicultural Greek Life, and making the most out of your first year.

Next, we have Catherine Muir! Catherine is a first time OL from Richmond, VA and she is majoring in Global Security & Justice.

Ask Catherine about club soccer, Chi Omega, Hoos Connected, The John Quincy Adams Society, and Happy Kids Healthy Kids (volunteering).

Next up is Caleb Etse! Caleb is a first time Orientation Leader from Alexandria, VA and he is studying Computer Engineering.

Next up we have Brianna Cajigas! Brianna is a first time Orientation Leader from Chesterfield, VA and she is studying Kinesiology!

Ask Brianna about Latino and POC spaces, pre-med or pre-health, time management, and Kinesiology!

Starting this week off, we have Alyssa Barnett! Alyssa is a first time Orientation Leader from Williamsburg, VA and she is majoring in Speech Communication Sciences and Disorders, and minoring in Global Studies.

Ask Alyssa about balancing work and classes, the School of Education, the best food spots around Grounds, attending sporting events, on-Grounds living, and ways to get involved at UVA and the larger Charlottesville community.

Closing out our first week of introductions, we have Teresa Nguyen! Teresa is a first time Orientation Leader from Annandale, VA and she is intending to major in Sociology and Global Studies.

Ask Teresa about being a Year-in-Wise student, being a transfer student, MOVIES, the Beatles, the Washington Society, volunteering with the Women’s center, the global studies department, support services at UVA, and how to balance working, clubs, AND classes while not burning out.

Next up, we have another awesome Senior Leader, Rose McHugh! Rose is a second time OL from Stafford, VA and she is majoring in Government and minoring in Leadership & Public Policy.

The Countdown to Summer Orientation starts now and we are kicking it off with one of our amazing Senior Orientation Leaders, Carolina Martinez-Alvarado! Carolina is a Youth & Social Innovations major from Leesburg, VA and this is her second year doing Summer Orientation!

Ask Carolina about being an FGLI student, pep band, salsa club, SDAC accommodations, the Hoos First Student Center, time management, and dorm life.
