The Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), founded in 1995, is dedicated to improving academic degree and certificate programs for Montessori professional educators and to assure the public of their quality. MACTE accredits programs at the infant and toddler through secondary II levels and trains those who teach and lead in schools. Our Vision:
All children throughout the world have the opportunity to access quality Montessori education. MACTE's mission is to recognize, assure, and promote the high quality of teacher preparation through its system of accreditation for the ultimate purpose of advancing Montessori student learning. Aileen has been involved in Montessori for nearly 40 years. She has worked on three continents experiencing the Montessori Method. Aileen is a founding member of Montessori Europe and one of the founders of TMEC in Shanghai. She is also a recipient of the MACTE Wisdom of the Elders award.
