Tall Oaks Elementary

Good evening, Tall Oaks Families! We hope you all have enjoyed your summer and that you're getting excited about the upcoming school year beginning. We are eager to see all the students and get the school year off to a great start.

Our Open House will be held on Monday, August 10th from 1:00-4:00 pm. This is a chance for students to come meet their teachers and other staff members at Tall Oaks. Families will be given a checklist of sorts to navigate each stop in the school; the last stop being out on the patio to meet the admin team and get a treat!

This would be a great time to bring any supplies you may have already purchased!

Come join us on Friday, August 7th from 2:30-4:30 at the lower pavilion!

We loved having our former Learning Leopards come back to Tall Oaks to celebrate before they graduate from CHS on Wednesday night. ❤️

Principal for 1/2 Day! Principal Ezra Bahr helped raise money for our school! As Principal on Friday, Principal Bahr greeted his staff in the hallways, lead the pledge at School-Wide Morning Meeting, and even evaluated his current and former teachers! To officially get the job he had to have an interview with Superintendent, Dr. Gurley! Charlottesville City Schools

Next up for Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re shining a spotlight on the longest-serving teacher at Tall Oaks Elementary, Leslie Scally, who teaches ESL and has been with CCS for 23 years. Has Ms. Scally made an impact in your life or in the life of your student? Show your appreciation in the comments.

Thank you Charlottesville Vineyard, Tall Oaks PTO, Ms. Walters, and our Tall Oaks Families for cleaning up the invasive plants and trash to keep our campus clean! 🌳

Thank you Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards for dedicating one of our Bur Oaks as the City’s newest Landmark! We loved hearing from a Tree Steward, David Marrs, who shared some leaves he had saved from the same tree, during the 1970’s, when he was a student at our school!
