Very excited about my new graduate seminar this semester, How to Write a Book. It covers the publishing industry as well as writing, editing, publicity, marketing, etc. Guest speakers will include my UVa colleagues and friends Paul Reyes, Allison Wright, Mark Edmundson, Grace Hale, Will Hitchcock, and Bruce Holsinger. Zooming in will be legendary editor Mark Warren. I'm working on scheduling a literary agent and an academic editor as well.

Is there a connection between mass incarceration and the undermining of democracy in America? Listen to Professor Elizabeth Hinton walk us through its historical and political ramifications on the new episode of Democracy in Danger.

It's a new podcast I do with UVA historian William Hitchcock.

Dear Friends,
I need a favor from you. This week we released the fifth episode of our podcast, Democracy in Danger. Word is getting out and subscriptions are booming. But we only have five reviews on Apple Podcasts. Would you mind taking a listen to an episode or two and writing a few sentences about it? That would be really helpful.
