Every Thursday during the summer, Market Square brings fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, local vendors, food trucks, and artisans to the courtyard behind UVA Health University Medical Center, creating opportunities for team members, patients, and families to connect with one another while supporting Charlottesville-area businesses.

The market was launched 11 years ago by George Minor, UVA HR Rewards and Recognition Specialist, who reflected on its origin: "We wanted to bring a healthy work/life balance to our team members, patients, and families."

Tomorrow (Thursday, July 30) is Miracle Treat Day. Nine Dairy Queen locations across Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley are donating $1 or more from every Blizzard sold to support UVA Health Children's.

Donations help fund specialized pediatric equipment, lodging and gas assistance for families, and services provided by the UVA Health Children’s Child Life team.
