Our fellows exhibit three important things.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ Excellence: a proven record of achievement both in and out of the classroom

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ Relationships: a demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and the belief that all children can succeed

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ Commitment: a history of perseverance and willingness to join the Charlottesville-Albemarle community.

If you want to make a difference in your school system, becoming a fellow might be for you.

We put relationships first!
Our Fellows learn about students as individuals and become members of the community in which their students are growing up.

Education doesnโ€™t end; it is continuous and extends beyond the classroom.

Our fellows do great things in the local school system. We have taught over 600 students, influenced over 300 families, and connected with 900 young people in our community.

We support educators with financial support, professional development, job training skills, and connections within the Central Virginia and Piedmont regions, and we canโ€™t do it without you

Yes, thatโ€™s right, and it's alarming! Kids who drop out of school struggle to succeed in life without a proper education. We want to stop this statistic by empowering African American Teachers and by setting a good example for our local youth.

AATF doesn't just cut a check; we build a community.

We understand that staying in the teaching profession requires support in various areas. Thatโ€™s why we assist our Fellows in three main ways:

๐Ÿ’ฐ Financial Support: Up to $6,000 per year for full-time students to cover tuition and licensure fees.

๐Ÿ’ผ Professional Support: Helping navigate the job market and creating strong partnerships with local schools.

๐ŸŒฑSocial Support: Providing a built-in mentoring program and a strong, life-long network of peer educators.

If you know any inspiring teachers? Contact us today, and they might be our next Fellow. ๐Ÿ”—www.aatf.org/give

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of our grassroots nonprofit and strengthen connections between our fellows and the broader community. It will also provide an opportunity for fellows and community members to engage with local organizations and learn about the resources and support available to them as community members.

At this community breakfast, you can look forward to a great meal, meaningful connections, and plenty of laughter as comedian Leslie Rob takes the stage.
