Among the words of Sidī Abu al-Ḥasan al-Shādhili, the master of the Shadhilī path:

he ق said regarding remembrance (dhikr):

“It is that state in which the heart becomes tranquil in meaning, where the realities of divine light are unveiled, and where one turns away even from the act of remembrance itself toward the One remembered, and from all things toward Him alone.”

Imam Shaf’i رَحِمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ was asked by an atheist how do you know that there is a G-d?

To which he said: “Because of the leaf of a mulberry tree.” The atheist ask him what do you mean?

The Imam said: “ The leaves of the tree has the same taste, the same color, the same smell, and have the same form, but when the silkworm eats them, it gives silk, and when the bee eats it, it gives honey. When the sheep eats it ,it becomes milk ,and when the gazelle eat it, it becomes musk. He then said: “Who could’ve made this so diverse in regards to its production if it wasn’t G_d; If it was other than a creator? Then he recited a verse from the Quran:

“Blessed be Allah the best of all creators.”

Dhul Hijja insha’Allah will begin from May 18th maximize the next 10 days in worship

Abu Hurayra (ra) narrates that the Prophet ﷺ said:

“There are no days in which the worship of Allah is as beloved to Him as in the 10 days of Dhul-Hijja. Fasting in each of these days is equivalent to fasting for a year. Standing in prayer in each of these nights is equivalent to standing in prayer on the night of power (Laylat al-Qadr).”

Istighfar of the Gnostics (Arifeen)

A story is narrated that one of the students of Sidi Abu al-Hasan al-Shadhili ق came to him one day in a state of severe tightness and sadness because of a sin he had committed. The man thought he was destroyed, and he kept making a lot of istighfar (seeking forgiveness) with deep despair and brokenness.

Sidi Abu al-Hasan al-Shadhili (ق) looked at him and said a sentence that became one of the principles of the Shadhili way:

"O my son, do not make your sin so great that it stops you from having good opinion of Allah. Because the istighfar of the heedless person with good opinion of Allah is closer to acceptance than the istighfar of the certain person with despair.
