The warm lavendar scented water with the wet wool in our hands forming into many colored acorns. They just needed a cap and a string and they became whimsically charming ornaments to brighten up a window or decorate a tree. A delightful way to spend a chilly afternoon!
Tomorrow, Sunday 12/6 1-2 pm EST, we will be creating pinecone gnomes. Check out the website headhearthandwork.com to register for these FREE Winter Craft Classes

It’s actually happening. When I left River Valley Waldorf School, after 16 years of teaching, I wasn’t sure what the next step would be.
Not surprisingly, my decision was to follow my heart; a principle that has guided much, if not all, of my life.
I am opening an on-line handwork school and have named it Head, Heart & Handwork. It will be based in Waldorf traditions but shaped by the thousands of student projects that I have facilitated.
I am truly busy getting the Head, Heart & Handwork Classroom FB page set up, course outlines completed, a new website finished and the millions of other things that surround this kind of an endeavor. I am hoping to be up and running by early November. So, stay tuned for further developments. Please share with your friends. Mary K. Till

I think whoever said, "That the only constant in life is change", is right. When I left River Valley Waldorf School to move to Virginia, there were so many things I could not have predicted. But here we are and amidst all of the changes happening, I wanted you to know that I will be continuing to do the thing I have loved so dearly in my life - teaching.
I am opening an online school to teach Handwork. If you're on this page you already know that I have named it Head, Heart & Handwork. It is going to be so different teaching over Zoom, but my plan is to keep the classes small so that I can give each student the time and attention they deserve. While this is not a Waldorf school, I like to describe what I am doing as being grounded in the Waldorf traditions. I plan to change and adapt, because that is what we all need to do, but the lessons I learned in teaching for over a decade and a half with over 2,000 student projects has given me a skill set that I hope will translate to this media.
My friends have told me that I need to keep postings shorter, because I tend to ramble, (oh no, really? I hear some of you saying).
So I hope that you come back often and let others know what I'm doing.
My target date for the website and school launch is mid to late October, but I will let you all know, as soon as I do.
I also plan to share some of the underpinnings of my teaching methods for those who are new to how powerful handwork can be in building a strong foundation for learning and life.
Stay tuned,
Mary K. Till - Head, Heart & Handwork
