Singing for Well-Being - connection. expression. because it feels good Singing makes us feel good, reminds us to be playful, and lets us express what it means to be fully human. Everyone CAN and SHOULD sing. We sing to celebrate.

This is a place to share our journeys and celebrate our voices. I’ve been singing my whole life and I’m so thankful to have it as a foundation for balancing my sense of well-being in the world. Through singing, We can truly express what it means to be fully human. We sing to soothe our souls. I'm so thankful to have singing as a form of expression that connects me to the rest of the world and more deeply with myself. Plus . . .it just FEELS good!

I'm grateful to be a part of a mindful movement :-)

Our last SUN/SETS experience will start at 5pm with music, yoga and picnics, and a special workshop in one of the adjoining gardens.

"Singing for Well-Being" will be led by Madeline Holly-Sales, a vocalist, musician, and music educator, who with her husband, Humberto Sales, perform soul infused Brazilian and Latin music as Beleza. This interactive workshop is designed to open the body and voice to fuller creative expression, reminding us to be playful, and find more freedom and release.

Don't be nervous: This workshop is for all levels - from novice to self declared singer :)

Later in the evening, Madeline will also lead a song as the bonfire is lit, followed by performances from Jen Fox, Anya Fleshler, and Victoria Bryant while DJs Aziz Vora and Copa Vida spin.

I’m really looking forward to Saturday. .cville will be hosting their final SUN/SETS event combining mindfulness, movement and music. I’ll be leading a “singing for well-being“ workshop at the beginning of the evening with the intention of opening the body and voice to create more freedom of expression and release. This week our little singing community will play with this Colombian cumbia, El Pescador. I remember hearing it for the first time decades ago sung by Toto la Momposina. Her strength of presence and ferocity… in the recording! left an impression.
