Join us in congratulating Elaina Pierce (pictured far right) on being named the 2026 Daily Progress Central Virginia girls track and field athlete of the year and Coach Erika Pierce for being named coach of the year! During her senior season at Charlottesville High School, Elaina won state titles in the 1,000-meter and 1,600-meter races during the winter season and the state title in the 1,600 during the outdoor season while also earning All-American honors in all three events. She is now a first-year student-athlete the University of Virginia. Coach Pierce led the CHS girls track and field team to a fourth-place finish in the VHSL Class 4 state meet. Congrats to the CHS boys lacrosse players named with All-Jefferson District honors. The Black Knights made it to the Regional Quarterfinals and had an outstanding year.
