Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Media Centers need your help! We still have a number of library books that have not yet been returned.

Please take a few moments to check backpacks, bedrooms, cars, and any favorite reading spots for overdue library books. Return notices and email reminders have been sent home to families.

Every returned book helps ensure that all students have access to the resources they need to learn, grow, and explore.

Greetings First Ward Families,
We are excited to announce our Inaugural House Wars Day on June 9th! This will be a fun-filled day of teamwork, competition, and school spirit for our students.
We are currently in need of volunteers and would greatly appreciate your support. If you decide to volunteer, you may either:
Assist your assigned teacher while helping groups travel from station to station, or
Help a station manager oversee and manage one of the event stations.
If you would still like to support the school but do not wish to volunteer during the event, we are also welcoming donations. A case of water is all that is asked, and anything helps.
If you would like to volunteer or make a donation, please fill out the Google Form using the Bit.ly link below. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to an amazing House Wars Day!

As we approach the end of the school year, we need your help! 📚

Please remind your student to return all library books to the Media Center as soon as possible. Returning books on time helps us prevent lost materials and keeps fines and fees off your student’s account.

6th grade science is in its plant unit. Students are learning about pollination and why it is important to plants. Students walk around to each station and learn about different pollinators, such as bees, bats, butterflies, and birds. They are exploring why pollinators choose certain types of flowers.

The FWCA 8th Grade Senior Trip to Stars and Strikes and Beat the Bomb was an unforgettable adventure filled with excitement and camaraderie. At Stars and Strikes, students enjoyed a day of bowling and arcade games. At Beat the Bomb there was an immersive escape room experience that challenged their teamwork and problem-solving skills. Divided into teams, they raced against the clock to solve puzzles and complete tasks. Can't forget to mention the delicious food! Fellowship creating lasting memories as they cheered each other on and celebrated in an atmosphere buzzed with laughter and friendly competition, fostering a sense of unity among classmates. This trip not only provided fun and entertainment but also strengthened friendships and created cherished memories that they would carry into high school and beyond. Thank you to all the staff and parent chaperones for all your support.

A huge thank you to The Opera Carolina for performing at FWCA Middle School today. Our 8th grade students had the opportunity to experience an unforgettable moment of watching a production of Mozart. The performers delivered a stunning and engaging presentation to the beauty of opera. What a great performance!
