Cabarrus College is pleased to welcome Ali Merchant to our team.

Ali currently serves as Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations at Carolinas College and will partner with Cabarrus College in a part-time role to support fundraising and alumni efforts. She brings more than a decade of fundraising experience, having held advancement roles at UNC Charlotte, Queens University, and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. Ali is passionate about the transformative power of education and its ability to shape future generations, and she is dedicated to strengthening connections among alumni, donors, and community partners to support student success.

"I love connecting people to a cause they believe in. Building authentic relationships and creating opportunities for others to invest in our students is deeply rewarding, especially knowing those students will go on to care for the people and communities we love."

Through a recommendation of our Radiologic Technology from his high school friend, alumni Michael Jordan, is now President of Atrium Health Union.

Michael's advice for students on the importance of "building your professional network," aligns with what he experiences in his current role.

"No day is ever the same, as is the case for anyone in healthcare. One of the great things about the President role is that it is not just the work inside the hospital. Strategic community partners, local and state policy makers, philanthropy efforts all complement the daily work of the campus. Working with some of the highest skilled clinicians, providers, teammates in all job roles makes every day inspiring. To see everyone pour their caring and commitment into patient care, fills my cup and helps me strive to lead the facility in the best way possible. We drive for quality out comes, financial stability and growth, while keeping the patient at the center of it all."
