After finishing 3-7 last year with a three-game losing streak, the Hawks have started the 2024 season on a roll. Wednesday night, Charlotte Latin ran away from Mecklenburg County rival Covenant Day 45-14 Wednesday night to improve to 7-0 on the season. The 7-0 start is the best at the school since 2021 and ties for the second-best in school history. In 2007, Charlotte Latin finished 13-0 with its best team in school history and became the first private school to win The Charlotte Observer’s Sweet 16 regional poll championship. The Covenant Day game was moved up from Friday to avoid possible tropical storm conditions that are expected to arrive in the area later this week, courtesy of Hurricane Helene.

Carson Clutter, Charlotte Latin: Clutter ran 17 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns. The Hawks' offensive line frequently gave him clean running lanes. Clutter took advantage.

Titus Ivory, Charlotte Latin: Ivory had several nice tackles and an interception from his defensive back position. He also had a pretty 57-yard catch and run for a score on offense.

Chris Rivens, Covenant Day: Rivens had a 95-yard reception for a touchdown and finished with six catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns.

Coach Ivory is hosting his first basketball camp at the JCC! He's taking over where the Dell Curry Camp has been for decades! Camp will have skilled and knowledgeable coaches, and star guest speakers daily from the collegiate, and professional level, competitions, awards and contests! They are almost filled, so get your scholar registered asap!
