Attendance is about so much more than checking a box.

Every day a student walks through the school doors is another opportunity to learn, build confidence, create friendships, and connect with caring adults who believe in their future.

Sometimes showing up isn't easy. Transportation, housing, health, family responsibilities, or other challenges can stand in the way. That's why Communities In Schools works alongside students, families, and schools to remove barriers and ensure every young person has the support they need to succeed.

Zaydan, a rising senior at Rocky River High School, shares how his CIS Student Support Specialist, Wydia Gavin, has helped him prepare for his bright future ahead.

As school starts next Tuesday, thousands of relationships like this will begin to build across our footprint. CIS students will have a trusted, caring adult in their school every day, someone who listens, encourages and believes in them and helps them prepare for their future.

💙 SouthPark Serves! For the third year, our SouthPark community showed up in a BIG way for the people who show up for students every day.

As the finale of Rise and Shine Week, our K–12 Student Support Specialists, TRiO Counselors, and Safe Journey Case Managers celebrated the start of the 2026–2027 school year with dancing, raffles, laughter, and a whole lot of excitement! They also filled their carts with essentials, student resources, and supplies to help start the year strong.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible SouthPark partners for investing in our staff and, ultimately, our students. And a special shoutout to Hyatt Centric SouthPark for hosting us and helping make the day so special. 💙
