We are excited to share that Corvian Community School received a School Performance Grade of B, based on the 2025–26 North Carolina Accountability Data! This incredible score was only achieved by one third of NC Public Schools.

The accountability data provides a comprehensive look at school performance and includes:

• Student performance on end-of-grade and end-of-course assessments
• Academic growth
• School Performance Grades
• Long-term goals
• Graduation rates
• Required identification of schools for support and improvement

This achievement reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers and staff, and the continued support of our families and community.

We are incredibly proud of our Cardinals and all the work happening every day across Corvian.

Congratulations to our very own Mrs.Newell on her Metrolina Theater Association nomination for Outstanding Actress!!

🎭 WCT IS MTA AWARD NOMINATED! 🎭

We are incredibly proud to share that Waxhaw Community Theatre and members of our theatre family have received nominations for the 2026 Metrolina Theatre Association Awards!

First, a huge congratulations to two members of the cast of WCT’s production of "The Beauty Queen of Leenane"

🏆 Mike Hahalyak as Pato Dooley - Nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Play

🏆 Lauren Newell as Mag Folan - Nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play

We are so proud to see their beautiful work recognized and to have "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" represented among this year’s nominees!

The celebration doesn’t stop there. Several members of the WCT family were also involved in Union County Playmakers’ production of "Boeing Boeing," which received a nomination for Best Play! WCT President Pam Micosky, along with Taylor Evans and Mikaela Perry, were all involved in the production.

Additional "Boeing Boeing" nominations include:

✨ Mikaela Perry - Outstanding Direction
✨ Tyler Campbell - Outstanding Lead Actor AND Emerging Artist of the Year
✨ Carri Hilson - Outstanding Sound Design

And finally, one nomination is especially close to our hearts.

Our dear friend Gay Clyburn, whom our theatre community recently lost, has been nominated for Theatre Person of the Year.

Gay’s friendship and presence meant so much to our theatre community, and seeing her recognized in this way is incredibly special. We are grateful that her impact on local theatre continues to be celebrated and remembered ❤️

Congratulations to Mike, Lauren, Mikaela, Tyler, Carri, the entire "Boeing Boeing" team, and Gay on these well deserved nominations!

What a wonderful reminder of just how much talent, dedication, friendship, and love for theatre exists in our community. We are so proud to be part of it! 🎭

Our elementary school Family Meeting was full of Cardinal spirit this week! ❤️

Our 1st–4th graders unveiled their grade-level cheers, and they did an amazing job! We are so blessed to have such enthusiastic students and incredible teachers who make our school community so special.
