Hello everyone, this is going to be a long overdue update on Kirakiracon. It may be obvious by now, but there is no KKC this year. COVID hit our convention pretty hard in that we were told on extremely short notice (3 days before con day) in 2020 that the event would be cancelled, after the staff had put in more effort than ever for a successful con. Seeing how easily UNCC was able to just tell us no thanks to COVID despite our communications and safety policies, we haven't even tried the past few years. However, assuming the club members next year are interested we may come back in 2024. While the at-the-time students of the club have all graduated, most of the staff is still around to help out if the new generation wishes to bring back our college con. We can't give an exact confirmation date, but by October you should hear if we're back on for 2024 or not. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy all the other cons that are back up and as big as ever!

Hello everyone,
We come bearing grave news and a heavy heart to announce that KKC 2020 has been canceled by UNCC authorities.
We apologize for such a short notice, as the UNCC authorities have just notified me late morning.

We tried to get an exception for our event but to no avail as they have not gotten back to us before their offices being closed for the week.
We also want to apologize to those who confirmed they were going or had plans to go to our event.

Our secretary, who has been communicating with the various local artists and dealers will make another post soon that will provide every Artist & Dealer social media / shop links to support you all in these trying times.

For our volunteers we apologize for the inconvenience that you set aside a tomorrow to volunteer and that you would want to enjoy the con as a guest. We are looking to use this time to make sure KKC 2021 is even better next and hope you can enjoy your free day tomorrow.

We hope for our next KiraKiraCon we can come back with a strong start and that everyone here will still be willing to attend our event.

We will make sure to improve communications, registrations process, our personal website and many other things before our next KKC.
And as for the next KKC date, we will let everyone know when we confirm reservation for it during the summer.

Regards,
William Landis

Here is an update from us regarding UNCC plans on closing campus that becomes effective next Monday, March 16th

We will continue our plans for hosting KKC 2020 this Saturday, March 14th, as we may not be able to reschedule it for a later date this year.
I will reiterate our plans for lowering the risk of attending KKC for everyone.

We will do our best to promote good hygiene practices and have hand sanitizers around the venue. We will distribute gloves to artists, dealers, staff to safely handle cash transactions and face masks for anyone that may need them.
The game room will have disinfecting wipes to wipe down the controllers and table area after use. And ensure that volunteers and staff are healthy to work during the day.
During KKC, we will make sure any situation involving sickness will be handled promptly and not cause panic amongst our attendees.

For those who are going to attend KKC despite the growing fear of the coronavirus:
Thank you, it means a lot to the staff of KKC that our planning and effort for preparing KKC for 2020 is not all for nothing.
I do hope to see most of you all there and that you have a good time despite these trouble times.

I will update our facebook with the necessary information such as Artists & Dealers list and our panel schedule before the event at least.

Due to the growing concern of the corona virus, we at KiraKiraCon are still planning to hold the event.
We will take several safety precautions for our staff, vendors, panelists and attendees.

The venue will have hand sanitizer stations and bottles around the building and we will promote good hygiene practices. We will distribute gloves to our cafe caterers, artists & dealers and staffs to safely handle cash transactions. The game room will also have disinfecting wipes to wipe down controllers and table area. And we will also distribute face masks to those that need them.

If you appear sick or seem to come down with some sort of sickness, please stay at home for the safety and health of everyone during the event.

We are also experiencing changes to our current artists & dealers and panel list, however, there are several artists, dealers and panelists that they confirm still wanting to go to the event.

For those that still want to attend, thank you for coming by during these trouble times.

Hello everyone!

We have our new date for KiraKiraCon 2020 and it is March 14th!

We are accepting registrations for artists, dealers and panelists, just send an email to [email protected] stating which one you are and we can get started on your registrations.

There is a rise in our admission fees from $5 and $4 for students to $8 for non-students and $6 for students.

The rise in admission is due to our increasing efforts to improve KKC, such as arcade machines rentals, more artists and dealers and better banners and signs.

Once we get closer to the event date, we will give more information such as the artist's and dealer's table placement and our con schedule.

We hope you look forward to attending KKC 2020!
