🕯️ Chorister of the Quarter Weekly Check-in: Evensong with Ben 🕯️

This week, our MasterSinger Ben is taking us inside one of the oldest traditions at Charlotte Choir School: evensong.

After eight years as a chorister, Ben has plenty of memories of singing in the dimly lit church with incense in the air. (He admits he’s even come to enjoy the smell!)

For Ben, evensong is “a great opportunity to grow closer to God and to prepare for the upcoming week.” He believes it’s an experience worth having whether or not you sing in the choir, and he’s grateful the choir school introduced him to it.

We invite everyone to join us for evensong in our home church St. Peter's Episcopal Church and see for yourself! 🎶

We were on the news!🎶

Our very own Hunter, Director of Operations & Advancement, was LIVE on Queen City News Mornings 📺 for Give Back Monday, sharing the heart and mission of Charlotte Choir School and what sets our program apart!

💙We’re so grateful for the opportunity to shine a spotlight on our choristers and the power of music education.

🎶 Meet Ben, our first Chorister of the Quarter this season! 🎶

Ben is a MasterSinger in his 8th year at Charlotte Choir School, and over the next few months he’ll be taking us behind the scenes to show you what life as a chorister is really like.

Now a high school senior, Ben plans to major in business and/or music production after he graduates. Looking back on his eight years here, he says the choir school “has helped me shape who I am quite a bit.”

We asked Ben what he’s loving in rehearsal right now. His current favorites:
🌟 Seek Him That Maketh the Seven Stars – Jonathan Dove
🌊 They That Go Down to the Sea in Ships – Herbert Sumsion
🎉 Frydeligt med Jubel – Jonas Rasmussen

Follow along all quarter for more from Ben!
