Charlotte Prep is an independent PreK-8 preparatory school serving 440 students ages 2-14.

At Charlotte Prep, we believe the most formative learning occurs between ages 2 and 14. Our intimate learning environment supports the student through these pivotal years. From the Early School that provides a preschool Montessori foundation to the Lower and Middle schools more traditional inquiry-based curriculum program, we equip children for a lifetime of leadership and learning.

🎃In Ms. Gilmartin's class, PSL stands for Pumpkin Seed Lesson! In this fall favorite, our first graders scoop out the guts of a pumpkin, with help from some of their parents, then practice skip-counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s to see who guessed closest to how many seeds a pumpkin has!

♫Our 3rd graders are learning Hot Cross Buns to receive their "white belt" as they embark on their exciting Recorder Karate journey. They will earn future belts as they master increasingly difficult songs.

📖This morning we welcomed back two incredible members of the Prep community who collaborated to craft Charlotte Prep Rising, a beautiful book that chronicles the inspiring story of our new lower school building.
Alumni parent and former Prep administrator, Vicky Wilkison, wrote this story, and Kennedy Cornelius (Prep Lifer, Class of '24) created the beautiful illustrations.

🚀It's launch day for the Prep Fund!
💯Our goal this year is 100% parent participation, because every family’s participation sends a powerful message: that you believe in Charlotte Prep, you believe in our teachers, and you believe in the experience we are creating for our students. We hope you’ll join the 100% of faculty, staff, and board members who have already promised their support.

📣Thanks to everyone who came out to support our athletes at spirit night last night! We took a moment to recognize our 8th graders with new pins for their pennants (tennis was away, but will be celebrated on Oct. 16). Soccer won their second game of the season, and volleyball played a very close match, showing tons of heart and skill.
