Community voices belong at the table — and that includes Asian American voices.

We had the opportunity to participate in the Governor’s Advisory Committee for a Stronger NC Listening Session, joining community leaders and residents to talk about what our communities need to thrive.

In our breakout groups, we shared lived experiences, listened to perspectives different from our own, and talked openly about the challenges and opportunities we see in our communities.

For us, it was especially important to bring Asian American experiences and concerns into the conversation. Representation isn’t simply being present in the room. It’s speaking up, sharing our stories, and helping shape the decisions that affect our communities.

Grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn, connect, and advocate for a stronger North Carolina for all.

✨ YOU ASKED. WE LISTENED.

We’ve heard from so many women who are interested in Beyond Silence: Asian Women in Leadership, but needed a virtual option to participate.

So we’re making it happen.

Beyond Silence will now be a 6-week HYBRID experience!

💻 Weeks 1–4: Virtual
Build your confidence, strengthen your public speaking skills, develop your personal story, and learn alongside a supportive community of Asian American women.

🎤 Weeks 5–6: In Person
This is where we bring it all together. Participants will practice, refine, and ultimately step in front of the room to deliver the speeches they have been developing throughout the program. The Asian Library 5910 Baxter Blvd

Led by TEDx speaker and public speaking trainer Mayuko Mayhill, this experience is about so much more than learning how to give a speech.

It’s about finding your voice.
Building confidence.
Learning how to tell your story.
Connecting with other women.
And becoming more comfortable taking up space in the rooms where your voice matters.

Throughout the program, each participant will develop one speech or personal story, and we will grow together as a cohort—giving feedback, encouraging one another, and watching that story become stronger week after week.

Program investment: $30 price change due to hybrid

Please do not let the fee hold you back. If you need assistance, please email me.

The real value is not in the price of the program. It’s in the skills, confidence, relationships, and community you’ll carry with you long after the final session.

If you’ve ever thought, “I know what I want to say, I just need the confidence to say it,” this space was created for you.

Beyond Silence: Asian Women in Leadership
Your voice belongs in the room. It’s time to use it.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Cambodian Culinary Arts cooking session. We loved sharing the flavors, stories, and traditions of Cambodian cuisine with you.

A special thank you to the Arts & Science Council (ASC) for supporting opportunities that keep culture alive and accessible in our community, and to Sister’s Suy for your continued partnership and collaboration.

Culture is meant to be shared—and sometimes the best way to connect is around the table. 🍽️
