Cochrane Collegiate Academy

Cochrane Collegiate Academy families, due to a winter storm predicted for North Carolina and Mecklenburg County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will implement a full day of remote learning on Friday, January 10, 2025. CCA and IMeck Building will be closed for teaching and learning.

The full day of remote learning will include asynchronous instruction only, which means students will have assignments that they will take home on Thursday, January 9 that they will need to complete independently and turn in on Monday, January 13. Students will not need to log on to their devices to meet with teachers or experience live instruction on Friday.

Please stay safe during this winter weather event. We look forward to seeing students back in the classrooms on Monday, January 13, 2025.

With continued issues around the district from Hurricane Helene, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will be closed for students on Monday, 9/30/24. Monday will be an optional teacher workday. In addition, there will be no ASEP at any Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools on Monday, September 30. This decision does not impact the remainder of the 2024-25 district calendar.

Did you know Hispanic Heritage Month started in 1968 as a week long celebration that was later turned into a month in 1988?
During this month we will honor the cultures, histories and contributions of our Hispanic and LatinX Americans. Throughout the month and school year we will acknowledge the identities of our students by teaching the significance of this special month and the theme: Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.

All parents/guardians are requested to complete the 2024-25 Student Information Form by September 13th. The form is for collecting information related to three important policies related to NC Parents’ Bill of Rights.
You will need to scan the QR code, enter your child’s student ID and complete the form!

Did you know Cochrane Collegiate Academy is an AVID school? At CCA we offer AVID to our scholars as an elective, we also embed AVID instructional and study strategies in classes to prepare our students to be successful now and in their future - College and Career Ready by Graduation is the goal. This past Friday we participated in AVID IMPACT DAY!!!

A-B-C easy as 1-2-3… Cochrane Collegiate Academy survived the first week!
New teachers, new students, new procedures and high expectations, we conquered a lot this week!
Social contracts, the Power of Yet, Physicals, Tryouts, Busses and Books we did it all!
Can’t wait to see all the school year will bring!

Well our students and families showed up tonight!!! Cochrane Collegiate Academy welcomed over 1200 students and family members to our school campus to get schedules, meet teachers, confirm transportation, and get helpful information to set up our scholars for success for the 2024-25 school year!

Don't forget...if you are a rising sixth grader new to Cochrane Collegiate Academy tomorrow, August 15th we will host the sixth grade Open House on August 15th at 5:00. We will go over expectations, introduce you to staff and a get a tour of the school. We look forward to meeting our new COLTS!
