What’s your Grandma hobby? 👵🏼 Since the beginning of 2025 several articles have been published linking “Grandma hobbies” (like knitting, crochet, gardening, baking, needle point, etc.) to positive mental and emotional health. I struggle with feelings of overwhelm and anxiety (exacerbated by perimenopause and current events). My wellness practices of yoga and meditation aren’t always what I want to be doing. Enter: Granda hobbies. I love the creative outlet and slow mode of embroidery. It calms my mind and brings me so much joy. 🪡💗 I just finished this beginner project and now I know all kind of stitches I can use for more projects! 🤗 What Grandma hobbies do you have, or what one do you want to start? 💬 Comment below.

When you’re an over-thinker like me, or caught in a loop of obsessive thought, worry, or anger — you need mental and physical outlets that focus your mind on the THIS PRESENT MOMENT, the only place peace can be found. ☮️ These 2 activities have literally SAVED me: painting and boxing. 👩🎨I love paint-by-numbers, it takes the thinking and perfectionism out so my mind can relax. It’s mindful meditation without all the trappings. 🥊Boxing is my therapy. I take all my pent up anger, fear and self-criticism out on the bag. And I leave a more loving and compassionate person. The irony! ✴️What is your outlet to release the tension?

With a New Year on the horizon, I am hopeful it will bring more light than shadow. May I never stop looking up to glimpse the sun’s rays burning through the dense clouds. Wishing you a very happy New Year! 🎉📷

BEFORE you set goals for the New Year, it’s essential that you first reflect on the year past. This process is not to be skipped, as it holds the potential to unlock valuable insights and lessons from the year. Following these five reflection questions gives you a solid foundation to build upon for 2025 goals, filling you with hope and motivation for the year ahead.
Over the past 25 years, I’ve coached hundreds of people to set goals that reflect what’s most important to them, establish a workable plan to make consistent progress, and celebrate the growth and achievement that happens along the way.
I recommend setting aside 30 minutes and writing your responses in a notebook or journal. Writing your responses down can help you organize your thoughts, track your progress, and revisit your reflections throughout the year. But at the least, set aside some quiet time to think through your responses.

What are you doing to keep your nervous system regulated? In the last 3 days I’ve brought out all my best tools— meditation, journaling, running, yoga, time in nature. They are helping. And perhaps re-prioritizing my mental, emotional and spiritual health is the greatest outcome from the election results. It is not a replacement for the necessary work and fight ahead, but this is what I can control right now. Radical self-compassion is no longer a nice option. I will not allow hate and anger to grow in me. Just watch, I’ll grow stronger, brighter and more fiercely loving and protective over these 4 years. F*ck yeah!

Made it to top of Schmittenhöhe! 6 miles 1,100 ft elevation gain. Had lunch at a cool cafe right on the trail. Saw some cows (locally owned, moved to mountains to graze for summer). Alps in background. Zell am See is spectacular! 🇦🇹🏔️

One of my favs from the late great poet, Mary Oliver
Happy Earth Day from Mary Oliver's publishers! There is no better way to celebrate than by being outdoors, reading Mary's poetry. May you have the time to do so today!

👀Look what I did! 😲
Brené Brown says “We move what we’re learning from our heads to our hearts through our hands.”
I’ve been a voracious reader of personal development books most of my life. Right now I have 5 non-fiction books on my night stand ranging from Jung’s “Red Book” to Martha Beck’s “Way of Integrity.”
My brain is chock full of knowledge, tools and strategies for living a purposeful and joyful life.
But in order to move what’s in my head to my heart… and in my BONES — I create. Mostly, my creative outlet is writing. But last week I rather spontaneously signed up for an adult art class. I never before thought of myself as an artist but I’m leaning into the idea.
Through the experience of making art, I find I can let go of perfection, stop second guessing, release control, have fun!
I highly recommend using your hands to make some art. Whether it’s cooking, gardening, coloring hair, playing an instrument or painting — lean into the idea that you are an artist! Let go and create something beautiful!

My dad and aunt were gifted storytellers. I marveled at how they could spin a tale and have everyone in the room at rapt attention. I wasn’t born with that gift.
But today, I believe storytelling can be a learned skill.
I’ve listened to stories from The Moth for years. This week I bought their “Game of Storytelling” and plan to use the story prompt cards at our dinner table with my husband and 2 teenagers. (Can you see the eyerolls already?) But I will not be deterred!
I’m a believer in the power of stories to heal, inspire, teach and transform. I also know know that telling one’s story is an essential part of honing our own unique voice in the world. Storytelling has the power to shift us from being a silent bystander to center stage in our own life.
