Due to damage to our air-conditioning system from a possible lightning strike on Friday, The STEM Early College will operate remotely tomorrow. Students should check Canvas periodically throughout the day for High school assignments and updates from their teachers.

Students should email their college professor if they are unable to make college classes due to this remote day.

We are hopeful that the unit can be repaired tomorrow. The school office will also be closed. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available.

Stanly County Schools has worked closely with the Albemarle Police Department throughout the day to ensure the safety of students and staff at Albemarle High School and Stanly STEM Early College.
We have been notified that the individual sought by law enforcement has been apprehended in a neighboring county.

We are grateful for the support and professionalism of the Albemarle Police Department and our other law enforcement partners, as well as our administrators, school staff, and district support personnel who worked diligently throughout the day to help ensure the safety of our students and staff.
