Freedom School Partners promotes the long-term success of children by preventing summer learning loss

Freedom School Partners serves the community of Charlotte, NC by providing quality Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools® to children (called scholars) grades K-8 who most need but can least afford summer learning opportunities. The Freedom School program last six-weeks and give scholars three fundamental resources needed to develop their potential:

1. Literacy skills through six weeks of qual

ity summer-programming
2. Social-emotional skills needed to make good decisions and
3. A community that believes in them comprised of community partners, friends, staff and volunteers. Our Mission: To inspire our scholars to love reading and learning, believe in themselves, and create extraordinary futures.

🏗️💡 Flash Back Friday !
Throwing it back to a fun summer enrichment experience with Rodgers Builders, Inc., where our scholars put their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to the test!

They planned, built, tested, and cheered each other on as they competed to see who could create the tallest structure. The result? Lots of laughs, creativity, teamwork, and learning along the way!

And just like that, it's the last day of Freedom School. We're filled with gratitude for every scholar, family, volunteer and staff member who made this summer so special. We laughed, learned, grew, and created memories that will last far beyond these six weeks.

To our scholars-keep reading, dreaming, and never stop believing in all that you can become. We will miss your excitement during Harambee and Enrichment- we can't wait to see all of the amazing things you do next! And our interns and staff- thank you for encouraging, inspiring, and empowering our scholars each day. We couldn't have done it without you! 💙

Remember, "there's something inside, so strong" in each and every one of you. We hope to see you next summer!

What a way to celebrate an incredible summer! 🎊

Our Finale was a joyful showcase of all our scholars have learned, discovered, and accomplished throughout Freedom School. From performances to presentations, every moment reflected the confidence, creativity, and growth that filled our classrooms this summer.

A heartfelt thank you to our families, volunteers, and the entire Freedom School community for cheering on our scholars every step of the way. Finale is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to invest in the next generation. 💙💛

What our scholars experience each day is made possible by the dedicated Servant Leader Interns (SLIs), Site Administrative Interns (SAIs), and Site Coordinators who pour their hearts into this work. From leading classrooms and creating engaging learning experiences to building meaningful relationships and encouraging every scholar to dream bigger, they help make Freedom School a place where every child can grow and thrive.
