Join us! The Eaton Rapids Community Playgroup will begin again this week on Wednesday, August 26!

Playgroups are FREE for families with children and infants, through 5 years old and their siblings in Eaton Rapids!

All playgroups will be at Union Street Community Center, 501 Union Street in Eaton Rapids. The playgroups will meet from 10-11 AM on the following Wednesdays:
- August 26
- September 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30

Join us for children's stories, movements, art, social opportunities and play!

Last night, the Eaton RESA Board of Education heard from two Capital Region Technical Early College (CRTEC) students. Both students selected programs through Davenport University and have earned college credits at no cost. These early college programs help students reach their goals while minimizing the cost of a college degree. Congratulations to both of them!

We also want to send a special shout out to Principals Marcee Theisen and Ben Bever for sharing data about CRTEC’s success.

There is still time to join the Eaton RESA Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Professional Learning Series for the 2026-27 school year. The cohort of educators will dive into designing learning experiences with clear goals and flexible paths to get there. Learn more https://bit.ly/4c1bxKj

Throughout the cohort, participants will:
✅ Design learning experiences with clear, firm goals
✅ Separate the learning goal from the task, tool, or product
✅ Build assessment into the learning process (not just at the end!)
✅ Create real opportunities for feedback, reflection, and revision
✅ Design flexible ways for students to show what they know

Eaton RESA recently hosted "Ready, Set, Teach" as part of the IGNITE Teacher Network.

This session helps new teachers step into the school year with confidence by focusing on essential first-week topics, including classroom design, expectations, procedures, and community-building.

A second session is being offered Thursday, August 20 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
