Thanks to a "Beyond the Classroom" grant from Queens University of Charlotte and the expertise of Anchored Soul paddleboarding company, 20 students from Queens successfully navigated the scenic South Fork Catawba River today! 🌊

The weather was perfect and we had a great group of students from World Languages and some of our friends. Thanks everyone for joining us and being great sports! We had many beginners and there were a few unintentional swimming opportunities 😆 but we all made it to the end of the paddle journey together! 👏👏

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of our Department Chair, Dr. Michele M. Shaul. She was so much more than a colleague; she was a friend to all. The lives of countless students, faculty, and staff were enriched by her support and enthusiasm. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on.

Our team is preparing to travel to Kenya, where we'll be spending the next week capturing the story of an inner city church and the local community that inspired its founding.

Mercy Nairobi is a ministry based in Kenya's capital that consists of Mercy Nairobi Church and Mercy House, a residential shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness in Nairobi. We're honored to join Carmel Baptist Church as their team serves alongside Mercy Nairobi in schools, children's homes and Mercy House's shelter, and we're eager to capture the impact that Mercy Nairobi's ministry is making in Nairobi.
