What a great day of training! GM Bobby has been traveling so much, I haven’t had a chance to train with him in several weeks. I remember that when I was new to training, he used to go away for about 2 to 3 months at the end of the year every year. He would travel to Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. Every time he left, I would train as often and with as many people as I could. I never thought I was good. I still don’t. I’m not putting myself down, I just don’t think in those terms. But I work hard to get better. And in his absence, I sometimes thought I was getting faster. Sometimes I thought I was getting better with control. Sometimes I thought my power was more coordinated.
And it only took one workout with him, when he returned, to convince me otherwise.
And even though it’s only been two or three weeks since we’ve trained, getting together with him and G**o Randy reminded me very much of what that was like. Still trying hard to get better.
And I told him about this feeling. And I think a lot of people have the same experience. Nobody can make you feel slower, less coordinated, more tense, etc. He doesn’t really try to make you feel that way. But training with him is different than training with anybody else I’ve ever met in this art.
He is truly one of a kind!
